    Sainte Hélène – L’envol de l’Aigle

    And finally, you can try to save Napoleon by helping him escape from the island of Saint Helena, but how can you get past Sir Hudson Lowe‘s effective surveillance? Saint Helena – L’envole de l’Aigle is a semi-cooperative game where you will have to use every trick in the book… even if it means betraying your allies.

    In May, we bravely crossed the Channel to attend PunchedCON in Coventry: several glorious days spent pushing pawns, sipping tea (beer), and asserting without batting an eyelid that ‘the demo lasts barely 30 minutes’ (spoiler: yes for Austerlitz and no for Brandywine).

    On the agenda:
    Brandywine, 1777 – A Time For Heroes, heroically presented and adjusted on the battlefield (everything is historical, even the unexpected).
    Austerlitz – Coup de Tonnerre!, fine-tuned with my friend Andy Loakes, game developer and proud local — living proof that Napoleon never really left England (at least in the special rules).

    What can we remember?

    • British players are sharp, curious, and extremely polite.
    • You can talk about cavalry tactics and biscuits in the same sentence.
    • Coventry knows how to welcome wargamers (even without rain, which is saying something).

    Will we go back?
    Of course. As sure as tea is strong and the order of milk or tea divides households.

    Chez « Les 3 Zouaves », on a une conviction simple : l’Histoire (avec ses panaches et ses revers, ses héros et ses figures plus sombres) est un terrain de jeu INCROYABLE. Alors, on a décidé de dépoussiérer les manuels et de transformer les faits marquants en expériences ludiques captivantes.

    Vous êtes plutôt du genre à revivre les charges héroïques, à élaborer des stratégies dignes des plus grands généraux, ou à vous immerger dans le quotidien d’une autre époque ? Nos futurs jeux sont pensés pour vous faire vibrer, réfléchir… et surtout, vous amusez !

    Notre recette secrète ? Des mécanismes de jeu simples comme bonjour, mais avec une profondeur stratégique qui saura titiller vos méninges. Fini les règles à rallonge qui découragent avant même la première partie ! Notre ambition, c’est de vous offrir des jeux où le plaisir de jouer prend le pas sur la complexité.     At Les 3 Zouaves, we have a simple belief: history (with all its highs and lows, heroes and darker figures) is an INCREDIBLE playground. So we decided to dust off the textbooks and transform key events into captivating gaming experiences.

    Are you the type who likes to relive heroic battles, devise strategies worthy of the greatest generals, or immerse yourself in the daily life of another era? Our future games are designed to thrill you, make you think… and above all, entertain you!

    Our secret recipe? Game mechanics that are as simple as pie, but with a strategic depth that will tickle your brain. No more lengthy rules that discourage you before you even start playing!     Carré Histoire – Cannes 2025: we were there, we held out, and we (almost) survived!

    In early 2025, we arrived at the FIJ’s Carré Histoire like a battalion on a mission: Gettysburg, Brandywine, and a few nuggets from our Sound of Drums comrades under our arm.

    Valentin was making heroic charges on Brandywine,
    Sébastien was holding the line at Gettysburg from time to time, but often on the offensive!
    And I, Yves Roig, provided logistical, strategic and tactical support… and caffeine.

    Two prestigious generals accompanied us:
    Uwe Walentin, in Blitzkrieg mode, with Assault, Hellas, Eylau – three fronts, zero prisoners.
